Storage or instant: which one at this budget?
Choose by where you need the hot water. A storage geyser heats a full tank and keeps it hot, so it suits a bathroom where people bathe one after another. An instant geyser heats water as it flows, so it suits a kitchen sink, a wash basin or a small bucket. At this budget you can buy one storage geyser or two instant geysers, such as one for the kitchen and one for a second bathroom. Our guide to instant vs storage geysers goes through the choice in more detail, and why you need an instant geyser in your kitchen explains the kitchen case.
Storage geyser under Rs. 7,000: the Enamour Classic Pro
The Enamour Classic Pro is the storage geyser in this budget. It has a polymer coated tank, a 5 year tank warranty, a fire-retardant polymer shell and IPX2 splash protection. The warranty is 2 years on the heating element and 2 years on the product. The box includes mounting fasteners and a multi-function valve. In winter, with tap water at 10 degrees C and the tank set to 55 degrees C, each size gives this much warm bath water:

Warm bath water uses the sum capacity x (55 minus tap temperature) divided by (40 minus tap temperature). The heating time assumes a 2000W element and no heat lost to the room, so real times run a little longer. A full 15 litre tank takes about 0.79 units to heat from 10 degrees C, which is about Rs. 6.28 at Rs. 8 a unit, and a 25 litre tank takes about 1.31 units, or about Rs. 10.46. On a mild day, with tap water at 20 degrees C, the same tanks use less. Our geyser power consumption guide shows how to work out your own bill.
Going up a size costs little. The 15 litre is Rs. 500 more than the 10 litre, and the 25 litre is Rs. 500 more than the 15 litre. If your family may grow, the bigger tank is the better buy. A 3000W element warms about 1.2 litres of water a minute in winter, when the rise is 35 degrees C (a 10 degree C tap to a 45 degree C tap). That is about 12 minutes for a 15 litre bucket, so an instant geyser suits sinks and short washes better than long baths. In milder weather the flow is higher, at about 1.7 litres a minute for a 25 degree C rise. Our guide to 3L vs 5L instant geysers shows which size fits which job, and the best geysers for a kitchen picks the five we suggest for the kitchen.
What to check before you buy under Rs. 7,000
• Tank coating. The Enamour has a polymer coated tank with a 5 year tank warranty. Models with a glassline tank cost more and carry 7 years on the tank. Glassline vs polymer coated tanks explains the difference, and what to look for in a geyser for hard water helps if your water leaves scale.
• Water pressure. The Primus handles up to 8 bar. The other instant geysers handle up to 6.5 bar, which suits low and mid-rise buildings. If you live on a high floor, read geysers for high-rise buildings before you buy.
• Installation. The Instaflo comes with free installation and connecting pipes. For the other models, the product page shows what is in the box.
• Star rating. All three Enamour sizes are rated 5 star, so the tank loses little heat while it stands full. 3 star vs 5 star geysers explains the saving.
• The wall. A full 10 litre tank adds 10 kg of water to the geyser, and a 25 litre tank adds 25 kg. Fix it to solid masonry with the right fasteners.
When it is worth spending more
Pay more if you want a longer tank warranty, a glassline tank, 8 bar pressure on a storage geyser or free installation on a storage model. Between Rs. 7,000 and Rs. 10,000 you can add a 10 litre geyser with 8 bar pressure, or a glassline tank with 7 years on the tank. The best geysers under Rs. 10,000 sorts that range by use, and geyser price in India 2026-27 lists the price of every size. Our geyser buying guide covers the other points to check.
